Fishtail

Fishtail

The fishtail is a metal plate welded or screwed into the outlet cone of the bin activator. This plate leaves a gap of 3 mm from the inside of the outlet cone.

The fishtail consists of an equilateral triangle always positioned pointing upwards, base downwards. The compressed air blown by this fishtail creates a blade of air that is inserted between the cone and the product itself. This blade has a vertical mechanical effect from top to bottom in the direction of gravity. During the operation of the fishtail, the friction forces between the inside of the cone and the product will disappear. The action of the fishtails does not cover 100% of the cone’s surface, but it breaks the horizontal and circular pressure balance of the powder inside the bin activator. Although this is not the objective, the air injected into the fishtail, relaxing in its action, presents a fluidizing action to the product. The relaxed air of each fishtail will leave the inside of the bin activator with the product, without putting the product under pressure.
